Intro
This performance marked the first phase of The Vision That Can Only Be Captured While Moving project. Wei Ling selected and edited a series of audio recordings that reveal intimate reflections on personal experiences of migrating. In collaboration with sound artist Nigel Brown, she experimented with a technique that translates the vibration of sound into ripples on the surface of water. This performance embodied a collective phantom of migrating figures within a domestic space. The vibrating water, activated by the performer, translated past voices into a material presence. The uncontrollable flow of water continually reshaped itself, revealing the fluidity of identity that lingers behind these stories. The performance was hosted by the renowned sound art space Ting Shuo Studio in Tainan.
